Key insights:

Some seem to feel that they must be on probation, and must prove to the Lord that they are reformed, before they can claim His blessing. But they may claim the blessing of God even nowJesus loves to have us come to Him just as we are, sinful, helpless, dependent. We may come with all our weakness, our folly, our sinfulness, and fall at His feet in penitence. It is His glory to encircle us in the arms of His love and to bind up our wounds, to cleanse us from all impurity. SC 52.2

Promise to hold onto:

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. (Mark 11:24 KJV)

What we learn about God:

God is soooo good! Why? The Bible teaches us that we can come to Him anywhere and at anytime! “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28 KJV) Jesus did not say come unto me tomorrow or when you are no longer sinning. Jesus never gave any requirement when to come to Him. He just said “Come unto me…” We serve a loving and merciful King indeed.

And faith is very important in our walk with Christ. “Jesus healed the people of their diseases when they had faith in His power …” (SC 49.3) When we pray, we need to believe that we receive them; with a little caveat, that we pray according to His will. But it is His will that we be forgiven and cleansed from our sins. So next time, when we confess our sins, believe that God has already forgiven you. AND repent: ask God to hate that sin from the bottom of your heart.

Action Step:

Look up, you that are doubting and trembling; for Jesus lives to make intercession for us. Thank God for the gift of His dear Son and pray that He may not have died for you in vain. The Spirit invites you today. Come with your whole heart to Jesus, and you may claim His blessing. SC 54.3
